The SVGA (Scottish Video Games Archive).

The SVGA is the initiative of staff and students of the University of the West of Scotland (Paisley Campus). The general idea of the archive is to have a repository of games and hardware; to back up, store and preserve classic, successful or exceptional original games which otherwise might be at risk of being lost or forgotten with time. This will also enable both gaming and non-gaming students to learn from these games by exploring such ideas such as, why they were so successful, what made everyone love a game or even hate it, what made a particular game fail and whether people’s wants, interests and expectations from games has changed over the years and continues to do so. The answers to these questions can be explored with the aid of the SVGA.

We are very enthusiastic about this initiative. At the moment it is still in fledgling status, and we are currently in the process of screening donations as well as more general administration organisation. However, we are highly motivated and determined to make the SVGA a success.

Feel free to have a look around the site, get some more information and also check out our sister site - svga.org.uk

Thank You and Enjoy
