Thought it's worth just clarifying for anybody else who needs to know that we are hoping to gather as much stuff together as possible this week, on Thursday 11th February. The aim is to collate it all together at around 11am to 12noon(-ish), in my…

I'm happy to go with the breakout logo for the moment, would be happy to possibly get 3 - 4 t-shirts made up from the different logo's suggested so far for those manning the stand on the day to wear. When we contact corporate marketing I think we m…

I guess the type of posters depends on what the festival folks want to do. I imagine at least some can be SVGA stuff. I'm open to suggestions or requests on the logo side of things. Given that the festival is fast approaching we'll need to figure o…

Just one thing with regards to the posters will these posters be promoting the archive or the creative festival in general? If they are for the archive have are we going with the breakout style logo for them or something else? Possibly a mixture of…

I'm afraid I'm not able to find any contact details for Estates & Buildings. It's almost as if they don't want to be contacted! It sounds like we won't have loads of stuff just now anyway, so we can try shifting it in my car. I'll pop over to the s…

Hi all. I've been thinking about the layout for our venue at the Creative Choices Festival. I think we've settled that we'll be stationed in the foyer just outside the Brough Hall (by the main reception in A block). Here's a rough layout suggestion,…

Have notified hamilton that we will begin to move things down on the 11th, even if we cant get estates and building to shift things I think its best if we get at least some things actually on site asap just in case the room gets re-allocated.

Spoke to Dr J today, the 11th should be fine for him as well, I'm free from the late morning (11 ish) onward, can try to source some extra boxes from somewhere, theres a 24 hour asda nearby so shouldnt be difficult.

I've put together a wee presentation so we've got something to show if it's possible (attached in a zip file). Obviously being 5 minutes we don't want too much stuff, but let me know if there's anything you think needs added/changed.

The SVGA (Scottish Video Games Archive).

The SVGA is the initiative of staff and students of the University of the West of Scotland (Paisley Campus). The general idea of the archive is to have a repository of games and hardware; to back up, store and preserve classic, successful or exceptional original games which otherwise might be at risk of being lost or forgotten with time. This will also enable both gaming and non-gaming students to learn from these games by exploring such ideas such as, why they were so successful, what made everyone love a game or even hate it, what made a particular game fail and whether people’s wants, interests and expectations from games has changed over the years and continues to do so. The answers to these questions can be explored with the aid of the SVGA.

We are very enthusiastic about this initiative. At the moment it is still in fledgling status, and we are currently in the process of screening donations as well as more general administration organisation. However, we are highly motivated and determined to make the SVGA a success.

Feel free to have a look around the site, get some more information and also check out our sister site - svga.org.uk

Thank You and Enjoy

Karen Mitchell
